CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Volunteers are needed for the 59th Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival (April 22-25) at the University of Idaho campus in Moscow. U of I students, employees, and community members aged 18 and older who volunteer will receive one free concert ticket for every four hours of service; the online interest form closes Sunday, March 15. - ➤ Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston will host Women’s History Month presentations from March 3 to 12 in Merriwether Lewis Hall (Room 100) to explore women’s contributions to America’s 250th birthday and the American Revolution. The events are free and open to the public. Dailyfly
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game opened a public comment period for spring and summer chinook seasons, running Feb. 17 through 19. A meeting in Lewiston is held today at Clearwater Region Office — starting at 5 p.m. with pizza and a 6 p.m. presentation on fishery proposals. KLEW
- ➤ The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office honored four residents at a recent commissioners meeting in Grangeville for life-saving actions during emergencies. The awards recognized Deputy Jabari James for a flood rescue and others for saving lives during 2026 incidents+ state and county leaders issued commendation letters. Dailyfly
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Ventura Foods has recalled single-serve peanut butter and peanut butter-and-jelly packages after blue plastic was found in a production filter; the FDA classified the recall as Class II on Feb. 12, affecting products distributed in Idaho and other states, so consumers should check lot numbers.
