ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, the Lewiston Fire Department responded to an exterior porch fire at 1726 10th Ave—one resident suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns as 16 personnel quickly extinguished the flames, monitored the scene for an hour, and began investigating the cause with damages estimated at $15,000. - ➤ The Idaho legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee approved a one-time $40 million transfer to the fire suppression fund and $1.25 million in bonuses for more than 300 wildland firefighters on Friday at the state Capitol in Boise. Idaho Department of Lands Director Dustin Miller said the new funds will raise the account to about $52 million — not enough for a severe fire season — and the measure must still pass the full legislature.
