ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 16th, 2025, the Lewiston Fire Department responded to an exterior porch fire at 1726 10th Ave—one resident suffered smoke inhalation and minor burns as 16 personnel quickly extinguished the flames, monitored the scene for an hour, and began investigating the cause with damages estimated at $15,000.  Dailyfly

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Idaho legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee approved a one-time $40 million transfer to the fire suppression fund and $1.25 million in bonuses for more than 300 wildland firefighters on Friday at the state Capitol in Boise. Idaho Department of Lands Director Dustin Miller said the new funds will raise the account to about $52 million — not enough for a severe fire season — and the measure must still pass the full legislature.  Dailyfly

  • LC State Baseball swept Corban University on Saturday—winning 3—0 in game one and 17—6 in game two. The Warriors, ranked 24th and on an eight game win streak, improved their season record to 14—7 and their Cascade Conference record to 11—2.  Dailyfly
  • On Saturday, Warrior Men’s Tennis won its third straight match when they beat Whitman 5—2, marking their second season win over the team. Key singles wins by Austin Swing and his teammates helped secure the overall victory.  Dailyfly
  • LC State women’s basketball season ended Saturday after a 71-60 loss to No. 5 Briar Cliff—turnovers hurt the Warriors despite a strong halftime rally. Ellie Sander led with 17 points as the team finished the season at 26-7.  Dailyfly
  • LC State Warrior Women won 75-59 over Columbia College in the NAIA tournament first round when Darian Herring and Payton Hymas each scored a career-high 21 points—boosting their team win. The team will play Briar Cliff on Saturday at 2 pm PT.  Dailyfly
  • On Friday, No. 24 LC State Warriors beat the Corban Warriors in a doubleheader sweep, winning the first game 15 to 5 and the second 11 to 5—showing a strong start to the weekend. The wins boosted the team's record to 12 wins and 7 losses overall—9 wins and 2 losses in Cascade Conference play.  Dailyfly
  • Warrior Men’s Basketball ended its season Friday when they lost 81—73 to Saint Francis in the NAIA First Round. The team finished with a 24—8 record and Coach Austin Johnson said they struggled to play well on defense.  Dailyfly
