- ➤ The Boys and Girls Clubs of the LC Valley will host Breakfast with a Movie/TV Star on Tuesday, May 6 at the Schweitzer Clubhouse at 819 12th Street in Lewiston, with doors opening at 7:00 a.m. and breakfast served at 7:30 a.m.—Marilu Henner will speak as Dr. Edmund and Beatriz Schweitzer receive the Don Poe Community Spirit Award. - ➤ On March 15th, the Alice Whitman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution honored Jan Goodheart, Darlene Larson, and Jenny Petty with the Literacy Champion Award for their work in boosting reading and book access in our valley. Chapter leaders said the award recognizes efforts that helped libraries, schools, and community centers serve hundreds in the Lewis-Clark Valley. Dailyfly

- ➤ The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating calls, texts, and social media threats against Dakota Umpenhour—who is not linked to the alleged dumping of an injured dog from Culdesac in the Waha area as no report was made—and is working to prosecute anyone breaking Idaho laws. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston saw enrollment rise by 11.2% this spring as total headcount increased to 3,100 from 2,787 last spring. Full-time enrollment went up by 8.2%—and both transfer and first-time student numbers grew by 18%. KLEW
- ➤ The University of Idaho reported its record spring enrollment with 11,886 students—a 4.2% increase from last year that marks the eighth consecutive semester of growth with a total 22.1% rise in enrollment. KHQ
