  • Union Gospel Mission Inland Northwest has secured full funding for the construction of the LC Valley Shelter in Lewiston, adding a building for offices, a chapel, classrooms and childcare that will open this fall. The mission now seeks an additional $300,000 to purchase essential equipment+ furnishings.  Big Country News
  • Starting Monday, March 24, a section of Lewiston Levee Trail from Lower Goose Pasture near Highway 12 plus Mile Post 309 to Mile Post 310.5 will be closed for Phase 1 of the City of Lewiston’s Raw Water Intake Project along the Clearwater River; the closure will continue through October 31.  Big Country News

  • On March 19, 2025, an Idaho County deputy stopped a red Toyota Sienna on Highway 95 north of Grangeville for a traffic violation and a K9 sniff discovered methamphetamine that led to the arrest of Trenton Kasper, 26, who faces extra charges from Washington, as well as Shandi Flowers, 39, and Stephany Maes, 39 — all were charged with drug-related offenses —.  KLEW

  • A section of the Lewiston Levee Trail from Lower Goose Pasture near Highway 12, Mile Post 309 to Mile Post 310.5 will be closed starting Monday, March 24 — the closure is for Phase 1 of the City of Lewiston's Raw Water Intake Project along the Clearwater River — and it is expected to continue through October 31.  Dailyfly
  • The Lewiston Fire Department announced the promotion of Engineer Brian Burke, a graduate of Lewis-Clark State College who joined as a Reserve Firefighter in April 2014 and earned the Medal of Valor in 2024. Fire Chief Greg Rightmier said Burke’s strong work ethic and commitment to the community make him a proven leader—his promotion recognizes his long service.  Big Country News
  • The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a Lateral Patrol Deputy position that pays $29.20 per hour with a benefits package—candidates must have two years of law enforcement experience or obtain Idaho POST Basic Patrol certification within six months.
