GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho lawmakers passed Senate Bill 1210—a reworked version of a medical freedom bill—last Friday following Gov. Little’s veto of a similar bill on Saturday. The new law, which bans medical mandates for schools, businesses and government, now heads to the governor who has five days to decide. Dailyfly
- ➤ Beginning March 31, the air traffic control tower at Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport reduced its operating hours due to staffing shortages. The tower is now closed every Tuesday and operates on regular hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. or a limited schedule of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.—pilots are urged to check current Notices to Airmen. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ At the Whitworth Peace meet in Spokane, LC State Men’s Track and Field achieved national standards when Perry Severijnse threw a 61.16m javelin — the relay team broke the school record with a 3:15.95 finish. Coach Mike Collins said the team met three national standards as they advanced into the core of their season. Dailyfly
- ➤ Sydnie Zywina of LC State cleared the national standard in the triple jump with an 11.92m leap at the Whitworth Peace meet in Spokane. Coach Mike Collins said the team set many season personal records and Zywina achieved a personal best in the long jump (5.63m) as part of a day of strong performances. Dailyfly
