Governor Little signed two contentious education bills on Friday; one mandates that school officials notify parents if students request help with social transitioning plus imposes fines for noncompliance, and the other sets new civics requirements with key historical documents and virtues for students.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game in Lewiston now sells bird boxes for native cavity-nesting species, including bluebirds and house wrens, at the regional office at 3316 16th Street.
They cost $10 each and help support local bird populations.

Idaho State Police honored emergency dispatchers in a video for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week today — the agency praised them for their calm support during emergencies.
The video showed that dispatchers are the first voices heard when help is needed.
