- ➤ Community members are invited to join the 15th Annual Jog for the Jugs Fund Run at Kiwanis Park on Snake River Avenue on May 3. Hosted by the Gina Quesenberry Foundation, participants will check in at 8:00 a.m. and start the race at 9:00 a.m. — the event raises funds to support those battling breast cancer and features a costume contest along with local vendors, baked goods, health resources and music. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Clarkston man—42-year-old Nathan Michael Combs—was arrested Sunday around 3:50 p.m. after officers responded to a Maple Street domestic dispute, and he was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting a woman at his Lewiston residence and a bystander; he has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree domestic assault, second-degree assault and first-degree kidnapping with the investigation ongoing. - ➤ On Saturday, April 12, volunteers built over 100 bird nest boxes for bluebirds and chickadees now available at the Clearwater Regional office on 16th St in Lewiston. Idaho Fish and Game asks for a $10 donation per box to cover materials and maintain the Lewiston Wildlife Habitat Area (call 208-799-5010 for details). Dailyfly

- ➤ Idaho Gov. Brad Little vetoed House Bill 482 on Monday to preserve his emergency fund—used for urgent state crises like the investigation into the killing of four University of Idaho students and efforts to combat fentanyl—saying that cutting the fund would slow government response. KHQ

- ➤ At the North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame Awards, the Logos Knights track team was named the 2024 Female Team of the Year and Coach Gwen Spencer and graduate Sara Casebolt received key honors—other awards recognized achievements in college basketball, football, swimming and honored former local coaches and players.
