At approximately 3:10 a.m. on Monday, the Lewiston Fire Department responded to a motorhome fire at 3007 East Main Street, where one resident suffered smoke inhalation after using a garden hose to douse the flames and was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center — the motorhome sustained about $3000 in damage as investigators work to determine the cause.

At about 3:11 a.m. today, the Lewiston Fire Department responded to 3007 East Main Street when a motorhome caught fire—its occupant used a garden hose to fight the blaze and was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for smoke inhalation while damage was estimated at $3000 and the cause is under investigation.

On April 17, police arrested 18-year-old David LookingGlass Wheeler Jr. at a 10th Street apartment after a domestic disturbance where he entered a home without permission and hurt people—officers said he was drunk and had been told not to return—and he faces charges for burglary, assault, stalking, and harassment.

AAA said that lower crude oil prices brought the cost of a gallon of regular gas in Idaho to $3.31—two cents less than last week and 61 cents lower than a year ago—with Lewiston gas at $3.43.

AAA’s public affairs director said if crude prices stay near $63 per barrel this week, gas prices may drop further.

Voters in Lewiston must pre-register by Friday, April 25 for the May 20 election at the Nez Perce County Auditor Recorder’s Office, which will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—registered voters with name or address changes must re-register and those unable to pre-register before the deadline can register at the polls on Election Day.

Nez Perce County voters must pre-register for the City of Lewiston Election by Friday, April 25; those who need to update their details must reregister.

They can register in person at the Auditor Recorder’s Office at 1230 Main Street — same-day registration is available at polling locations on Election Day.

The Idaho Transportation Department began Work Zone Safety Awareness Week on April 21 and will continue until April 25 to help drivers slow down and stay alert in busy construction zones.
