At the Cougar Classic in Pullman on Saturday, LC State Track and Field had a record-setting day when Griffen Parsells ran the 800m in 1:49.69, becoming the second Warrior to break the 1:50 barrier while Jordan Castillo and the relay team posted milestone times.
The strong performances—featuring personal bests in the 400m, javelin and high jump—point to a promising season for the team.
On Sunday, British Columbia won the regular season Cascade Conference title by beating No.22 LC State 9-2.
The team will host the CCC postseason tournament next weekend in Vancouver, B.C.

Haylee Appleford broke a school record in the shot put by throwing 12.63m—an effort that added to the team’s strong showings in events like the hammer, 400m and relay.
