COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The LC Valley Down and Dirty Mud Run will take place on Saturday, August 23 at 1239 Warner Ave in Lewiston where participants of all ages will enjoy the 3.1-mile obstacle course + support local charities. Organized by volunteers and sponsored by local businesses, the event also features a Mini-Mudder for kids + offers registration packages that include a T-shirt, medal, and chip timing.  Dailyfly

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lewis-Clark State College will award 892 degrees and certificates to 753 graduates at two commencement ceremonies on May 9 at the P1FCU Activity Center. The first ceremony starts at 10 a.m. for liberal arts and technical studies and the second at 2 p.m. for professional programs — the events will honor retiring emeritus faculty and individual award winners.  Dailyfly
  • Lewis-Clark State College and ISU signed a five-year MOU to let students earn a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Athletic Training within five years. The program lets students study three years at LC State before transferring to ISU, and they must declare their intent in writing by the spring term and finish the application by Jan. 15 (requirements include a minimum 3.0 GPA and a current CPR/AED certification).  Dailyfly

  • Utah, Idaho and Wyoming signed memorandums of understanding to form a nuclear energy partnership that will align policies and support advanced nuclear research, infrastructure projects and workforce growth. The agreement establishes a framework linking state leaders and the Idaho National Laboratory—promising to boost reliable, affordable energy in the region.  Dailyfly
  • The Idaho Attorney General warned Lewiston residents today to be cautious of door-to-door scammers offering fake government programs—these individuals are trying to gain access to homes.  KHQ
  • A federal judge blocked parts of the new Idaho immigration law created through House Bill 83—signed by Gov. Brad Little on March 27—saying it may violate rights while the ACLU of Idaho's lawsuit moves forward. The ruling stops enforcement of crimes like illegal entry and illegal reentry as the judge reviews the law's claims.  Dailyfly
  • On April 30, Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador issued a consumer alert—warning residents against door-to-door sales tactics where individuals impersonate government workers to offer fake home inspections and audits.
