Today, the U.S. Forest Service advises hikers at Scotchman Peak to keep a safe distance from mountain goats — gusty winds from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. may blow down tree limbs and cause brief power outages in Lewiston.

University of Idaho physics professor Matthew Hedman helped show that Uranus’ μ ring is mainly water ice (data came from Hubble, James Webb, and Keck).

Researchers have secured additional James Webb time to study the rings annually for the next five years.
