- ➤ A shooting on Ash Ave in Lapwai on May 20 left one man dead and led police to arrest Victor Gray for first-degree murder after responding to a citizen dispute around 7 p.m.—investigators from Nez Perce County, Nez Perce Tribal Police, Idaho State Police, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, and Lewiston Police are now examining the case. - ➤ Kathleen Tetwiler was named Assistant Principal at Sacajawea Middle School for the 2025–2026 school year by the Lewiston Independent School District—she brings over 20 years of education experience from roles such as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Orofino Jr./Sr. High School and leadership at Idaho Digital Learning Academy. - ➤ Idaho Fish and Game reported that spring Chinook salmon returns over Bonneville Dam are over 90% complete with projections showing record numbers from Clear Creek, and estimates for Clearwater, Rapid, and Hells Canyon fisheries are steady.
