- ➤ A 53-year-old Lapwai man —Victor Joseph Gray— was charged with first-degree murder after a fatal shooting occurred on Tuesday when deputies arrived around 7:30 p.m. following reports that a woman was hospitalized after being hit in the head with a shovel during a yard altercation. Dailyfly
- ➤ A hunter in North Idaho mistakenly shot a young grizzly bear, thinking it was a black bear in the Priest Lake drainage in Bonner County + he now faces penalties from Idaho Fish and Game including a fine of up to $10,000, a hunting license suspension of one to three years + and up to six months in jail. - ➤ The Idaho Fish and Game Commission increased fishing limits for Chinook in parts of the Clearwater River basin on May 22 due to many Chinook returning to the Kooskia hatchery on Clear Creek. The new rules let anglers catch four Chinook a day and keep up to twelve Chinook—with only two and six allowed to be adults respectively—changes that take effect immediately. Dailyfly

- ➤ At Marion, IN, sophomore Perry Severijnse earned a finals spot in the men’s javelin throw at the NAIA Outdoor Championships after throwing 58.20m and finishing ninth out of 24 competitors. It was his first national appearance and he narrowly missed All-American honors by one spot — coach Mike Collins said tough weather conditions meant he would learn from the experience as he prepared for next year.
