ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters contained a wildfire in Clarkston Heights off Rivercrest Drive on Wednesday after a resident's yard waste burning lost control in 94-degree weather, and crews from Asotin County Fire District #1, the City of Asotin and the City of Clarkston worked for about two hours — the two-acre fire threatened nine homes near a horse pasture. - ➤ A Lewiston man, 40 years old, was arrested at his residence after he allegedly put his wife in a headlock during a domestic dispute over an unloaded firearm—witnessed by their child. KLEW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Idaho Department of Correction and GEO Reentry Services will hold a graduation ceremony on June 4 at noon at Lewiston Community Center—1424 Main Street to honor individuals on probation and parole who completed the Connection and Intervention Station program. Keynote remarks will be given by Joene Cliffe and Idaho Department of Correction Director Bree Derrick will attend. Dailyfly
- ➤ Idaho observed National Missing Children's Day on May 25—proclaimed by Governor Brad Little to raise awareness for missing children—with law enforcement working to locate nearly 180 missing persons, including over 50 children. The Idaho State Police also held a poster contest for fifth graders, noting Prairie Elementary’s Lillia Kaschmitter as a winning example of spreading the message that every missing child is loved.
