- ➤ The Lewiston Farmers Market will open June 7—in the parking lot of the old Shopko building at 2120 Thain Grade—and visitors will find local produce, honey, meat, baked goods and crafts available every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through September 27. The market will accept SNAP benefits and some vendors will also accept Washington WIC and senior WIC benefits. KLEW

- ➤ The Lewiston Police Department has partnered with Flock Safety to install a license plate recognition camera system—integrated with the National Crime Information Center—to spot stolen vehicles and missing persons, and early success includes recovering a stolen vehicle and arresting a suspect. - ➤ Jacob C. Bremer (29) was arrested at the Clarkston Walmart on June 2 for stealing $51.43 in merchandise while under a trespass order; he faces charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and first-degree criminal trespass after staff detained him around 4:19 p.m. Dailyfly

- ➤ The University of Idaho has ended its plan to buy the University of Phoenix after years of obstacles and a lawsuit over open meetings violations—state officials will meet Thursday afternoon to discuss a termination that could grant UI over $17 million. KLEW
- ➤ University of Idaho will ask its Board of Regents on Thursday to end talks with University of Phoenix and will pay a termination fee of $17.24 million - covering expenses from the negotiations. The university began exploring the affiliation in spring 2023 to expand online learning but legal challenges and legislature concerns made the project too costly - leading to the decision to stop the discussions.
