On June 12 at 5 p.m., the Elks Lodge #896 will host a flag retirement ceremony with flag posting, Quilts of Valor for about 20 veterans, dinner, and music by The Lukenbills while community members drop off flags and books to honor patriotism during America’s 250th anniversary.

Construction will resume Monday on a section of U.S. Highway 95 in Culdesac Canyon (mileposts 283 to 286) as Knife River adds a southbound passing lane and replaces the Rock Creek culvert; drivers should expect delays up to 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. while new measures protect local fish habitats.
A new report warns that if Congress does not act, Idaho retirees could face a 24% reduction in Social Security benefits by 2032—cutting average monthly payments by about $494 and affecting nearly 18% of residents.

At least 45 people have tested positive for campylobacteriosis linked to raw milk since May 19 — two Idaho farms are working with health officials to fix contamination sources and prevent further illness.
