- ➤ An 80-year-old Lewiston man named Dennis M. Diaz died when he was struck by a pickup truck at 9:27 p.m. Tuesday on the 1700 block of 21st Street near Taco Bell while crossing outside a crosswalk — the truck was a 2003 Ford F-150 driven by 48-year-old Shawn P. Miller. Dailyfly
- ➤ A 10-year-old child was hit by a car while crossing the 3900 block of Lapwai Rd today — the child was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries while deputies investigate the incident. KHQ

- ➤ Lewiston School District announced four new school leaders who will start working in the 2025–26 school year—Ryan Wessels and Annette Province as Assistant Principals at Lewiston High, Amanda Remacle as Principal of McSorley Elementary, and Linde Heckler as Principal of Orchards Elementary. - ➤ Fifty teams of police dogs and their handlers are training in Lewiston this week at the Idaho Police Canine Association Conference—local agencies and teams from across the state meet to exchange tactics and meet required POST training hours while units such as bomb, patrol, narcotics detection, and Fish and Game canines participate. This event is hosted in Lewiston for the first time since 2015. KLEW
- ➤ The Latah County Sheriff’s Office announced plans to convert the jail into a court holding and booking facility after an evaluation found the current safety systems and plumbing need full replacement—costing about $13 million. The facility will book inmates during court hours while after-hours arrests are sent to Nez Perce County Jail—officials are collaborating with local commissioners and Moscow to plan long-term housing.
