🚧 Accidents
On June 13, many first responders at the crash site were local volunteers—neighbors who quickly arrived to help.
Lewiston police said a juvenile bicyclist was hit Friday when he entered the roadway and was struck by a northbound pickup truck driven by a Clarkston resident (the boy suffered only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital around 4:30 p.m.).
Clearwater County Sheriff's Deputies and Clearwater County Ambulance responded to a boating accident at a destination dock in the Canyon Creek area on Dworshak Reservoir on Thursday night just after 10 p.m.—a white Seaking boat hit the dock and injured 26-year-old Charlie Thies of Juliaetta and 22-year-old Taylor Brown of Lewiston, who were treated at the scene with minor injuries while the investigation continues.
🚨 Crime
Lewiston police arrested 44-year-old Joseph R.
Jordan on Thursday for first-degree stalking after he allegedly sent about 176 threatening messages in 24 hours to a Lewiston woman—bypassing multiple no contact orders from November 2024—and officers found a loaded handgun in his pocket on Lapwai Road; he is due to appear in court on June 25.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office warned Lewiston residents after a citizen reported a fraudulent call from someone posing as Deputy Dan Brown from Whitman County who claimed a missed court date and demanded $2,000, while the office confirmed officers never ask for payment using gift cards—Apple Pay or cryptocurrency.

The Lewis Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce announced that CEO Linnea will step down and that a search for her successor began on June 13, with Board Chair Tobe Finch helping with a smooth transition.
Applications will be accepted through Monday, June 23—interviews are scheduled from June 25 through July 3.
The Nez Perce County Court is moving to a new building and will fix a 100-year-old bench and gates from Lewiston's early court days—these items will be put in Courtroom One to keep the city's legal history alive.
