- ➤ Firefighters from Asotin County Fire District 1, Clarkston Fire Department and Lewiston Fire Department responded to a house fire on Elm Street in Clarkston Monday afternoon and rescued five people and four dogs while one person received minor treatment for burns as crews secured the scene for 90 minutes. - ➤ An 18-year-old Lewiston teen died when her unbelted Toyota 4Runner left the roadway on Monday, June 23rd on Waha Road near Buchanan Road in Nez Perce County and rolled in a ditch—emergency responders blocked the road for three hours as Idaho State Police investigate possible alcohol and drug involvement. - ➤ Lewiston City Council approved a new three-year labor agreement for firefighters on Monday night that ended a months-long wage dispute through court-ordered mediation. The contract gives a 2.5% pay increase retroactive to October 1, annual cost-of-living adjustments, a one-time 4% market wage increase and clothing allowances for full-time and reserve members. - ➤ Tomorrow at 9 a.m., the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport will conduct a full-scale emergency exercise to test emergency response and improve coordination among firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, airport staff, city staff and airline representatives.
