🎓 Education
On July 1, new Idaho education laws will change union rules in public schools and update civics instruction—schools must start each day with a moment of silence.
The rules affect educators, parents and students with revisions to funding, reporting and career ladder policies.
State Superintendent Debbie Critchfield will launch a $5 million high-needs program this summer to support special education for about 41,200 students, reserving up to 40 percent for rural districts (she will track claims) even as federal plans shift special ed to HHS and Idaho faces a funding gap.

City officials lifted the boil water order for Snake River Avenue after water tests confirmed safety following repairs.
Affected residents & businesses may now resume normal water use as door hangers notify them that the water is safe.
On June 24, a break in the water main on Snake River Avenue affected properties from 811 Snake River Avenue to the Southway Boat Ramp; tests confirmed the water is safe and officials lifted the boil order so normal use resumes immediately + door hangers notify residents.
