🚨 Crime
The Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office arrested a 40-year-old man—Justin Lee Rock—who fled law enforcement on July 1 while camping at Red Bird Beach on the Snake River and now faces a felony warrant for witness intimidation with a $250,000 bond as well as misdemeanor warrants for stalking and domestic battery.
🏛️ Government
The Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport Authority will hold a public hearing on its fiscal year 2025–2026 budget at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 in the Conference Room of the Administration Building (3632 Stearman Street) in Lewiston.
The proposal includes $80,000 in local funds and $6,578,542 in federal funds for capital projects.
A new federal Special Assistant US Attorney role is set to open in Shoshone County to fight fentanyl trafficking and help reduce the local prosecutors' case load.
Applications are open now, and the position—funded by city, state, and federal resources—will handle about 30 cases a year.
