ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Fish and Game + partner agencies will use rotenone at four high mountain lakes in the Five Lakes Butte area starting August 11 to remove invasive brook trout and protect native cutthroat and bull trout. Visitors should avoid the treatment areas as trail crews and helicopters support the work from July through September and native trout are moved to nearby safe waters.  Dailyfly
  • Idaho Fish and Game is asking Lewiston anglers to kill and report any walleye caught in the Lower Snake, Clearwater, or Salmon rivers—since these fish threaten salmon and steelhead habitats—and to send photos of each catch to help track their spread.  Dailyfly

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Red Cross is urging blood donors—especially those with type O blood—to donate soon to help refill critically low supplies after holiday shortfalls and summer challenges. Donors who give by July 14 will receive a pair of limited-edition Red Cross x goodr sunglasses, and local drives in Moscow, Troy, and Viola offer more chances to help.  Dailyfly
