ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Lewiston Firefighters contained a fire at Pacific Steel and Recycling on Tuesday at 604 12th Street North—using heavy equipment to keep flames from spreading and limiting damage to $5,000, with no injuries reported. Dailyfly
- ➤ A fast-moving fire destroyed a home, garage, vehicles, and outbuildings Tuesday in Clarkston between Elm Street and Chestnut Street — firefighters from several agencies worked five hours to contain the blaze and a second fire on 2nd Avenue while no injuries were reported. Dailyfly
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ IDPR and DEQ announced the construction of a new 26-site tent-only campground along the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes — located near the Shoshone County Airport on former Bunker Hill Superfund land — for non-motorized travelers. The campground will offer secure bike parking, potable water, a shower house, E-bike charging stations, and hammock posts — and construction is expected to finish later this year. Dailyfly

- ➤ The U.S. Forest Service and PotlatchDeltic closed Beaver Creek Highway from Highway 11 at milepost 0.00 to milepost 5.70 in Headquarters on July 8 for road maintenance that will last through September 30.
