- ➤ Firefighters from multiple departments responded Tuesday at 5pm in Clarkston to fight a large blaze that destroyed a home, garage, vehicles and outbuildings—wind pushed the flames from Elm Street to Chestnut Street in dry grass, though no injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation. - ➤ Emergency crews responded early Wednesday morning when a vehicle plunged into the Lochsa River near milepost 99.5 on US Highway 12 — just east of Lowell after a motorist rescued the driver, who was transported by ambulance with minor injuries. Dailyfly
- ➤ Lewiston Fire Department responded to a fire at 12:15 p.m. today at Pacific Steel and Recycling located at 604 12th St. North and quickly contained the blaze in the outdoor recycling area—no injuries were reported and damage is estimated at $5,000. Big Country News

- ➤ A 37-year-old man from Orofino was arrested after a high-speed chase on a Suzuki motorcycle near Lewiston—he reached speeds over 140 mph, crashed into a patrol vehicle, admitted to recent methamphetamine use, and now faces multiple charges with a bond set at $150,000. Dailyfly

- ➤ Nearly two dozen school districts and charter schools in Idaho have received grants for school resource officer positions from the state’s Millennium Fund—funds that will help schools like Lewiston Independent add new safety measures.
