🏘️ Community
The North Idaho Sparklers held a colorful parade Saturday along Celtus Way to honor local heroes as families and friends gathered for the event + a Fire Weather Watch and heat advisory were issued for many areas with strong winds and high temperatures expected Monday, urging residents to stay alert.
🏛️ Government
The Idaho Bureau of Emergency Medical Services joined the Idaho Military Division on July 1 to boost statewide emergency response and moved its operations to Gowen Field in Boise—part of a plan backed by House Bill 206 to improve staffing and coordination.
Increased grant funding was also approved to support local 911 response agencies.
Nominations are now open for the Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to Idaho’s recreation and tourism sectors—Governor Brad Little will choose the recipient, with the award presented at the Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism in Idaho Falls from October 20–22 and nominations due by August 20.
