- ➤ Today, the Lewis Clark Animal Shelter announced a new four-week course called Pawsitive Start to teach dog owners effective training techniques including loose leash walking and door manners. The course costs $100 per person— all proceeds will support the shelter’s behavioral training program. KLEW
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On July 20th at 6:40 p.m., a Lewiston husband and wife were injured in a UTV crash near Stage Coach Road and Buckboard Lane and were taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center—both were treated and released as the cause remains under investigation. Dailyfly
- ➤ Two people were injured in a collision on July 21 at about 1:08 p.m. when a red 2018 Chevrolet Corvette failed to yield at a stop sign near the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and State Route 127 about 12 miles west of Pomeroy—Dale McAtee and his passenger were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center and Providence St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston—while the driver of a grey 2023 Chevrolet Silverado was not injured; both vehicles were totaled and McAtee was cited for failing to yield. - ➤ At about 1:56 a.m. Sunday, Lewiston Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 606 Lapwai Road where heavy smoke and flames were seen on the north side, no one was home, and firefighters used a backhoe from Public Works to safely remove the roof while investigators work to determine the cause—one or more dogs may have been lost.
