Firefighters in Garfield County are battling the Clayton Road Fire that began July 28 at 4:45 a.m. and burned about 200 acres near Clarkston, while state resources (activated at Level 2 from Camp Murray) are helping contain the blaze as investigators probe its cause.
🚨 Crime
A 47-year-old woman was arrested in Clarkston for possessing a stolen red 2006 Chevy Matrix that was reported taken from a relative in Orofino after officers found her near the vehicle in an alley off 9th Street and she was booked into the Asotin County Jail — she said she believed she had permission but the owner denied it.
🏛️ Government
Officials from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game revised the 2023 wolf count from 1,150 to 1,235 using a new method called the ABC method — the change aims to provide a more accurate estimate as the state works to reduce wolf numbers.
