🌲 Environment
The Wilderness Society published a map showing over 1 million acres of Idaho wilderness that a federal review which began in June may affect - officials encourage Idahoans to submit comments to defend these lands from development.
At a Friday press conference near Coeur d’Alene, Gov. Little and US Forest Service Chief Schultz warned that wildfire activity is stretching resources as over 600 fires burn in Idaho & fire restrictions remain.
They urged residents to follow safety rules and avoid actions that spark fires.
The U.S. Forest Service warns that fire risk in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest remains moderate today while resources are stretched at PL5.
Residents should review evacuation plans & monitor weather as hot, dry, windy conditions can quickly change fire behavior.
