- ➤ Lewis-Clark State College will host its annual Fall Frenzy and Family Weekend from Sept 22—28 with student events such as shopping cart races and Warriors Got Talent and with family activities starting Sept 26 including Warrior FanFest and volleyball matches. The week, presented by Sparklight, will also feature Sept 27 events like Pastries with the President and a Color Run and Walk to benefit Student Involvement—inviting students, families and community members to join in. FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ A report by Insurify shows Washington car insurance rates will jump 7% by December if tariffs remain in place — pushing the average full coverage policy to about $2,155. In contrast, Idaho rates have dropped 6% since January and now average $1,400 amid rising parts costs and other factors. KHQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ An audit by the Inspector General found serious staffing problems in the Veterans Affairs system in Washington, Idaho and Montana, with psychology vacancies rising 50% since 2024—this shortage has been linked to tragedies where veterans who sought help later faced fatal outcomes. - ➤ LC State Volleyball begins its 50th season today at the P1FCU Activity Center as coach Katie Palmer leads the Warriors coming off their best season yet—returning AVCA All-American Juliauna Forgach Aguilar along with experienced seniors and six freshmen including Lewiston product Jordyn Albright.
