Firefighters from Asotin County Fire District #1 and the City of Lewiston responded to a structure fire in a manufactured home on 13th Street Friday afternoon—smoke was reported and crews fought the blaze for about one hour as the kitchen near the stove sustained heavy damage.

The Idaho Department of Labor reported that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 3.6% in June to 3.7% in July as total employment fell by 643 to 973,241 and the labor force dropped by 451 people—while some sectors like construction and transportation experienced job gains. The report shows mixed trends in the state’s employment numbers.

The Port of Lewiston and American Cruise Lines opened Idaho’s first cruise boat dock in Lewiston on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Confluence Riverfront facility.
Local officials, community members, and river stakeholders watched the cruise ship American Song moored along the Clearwater River + the new dock, partly funded by Governor Brad Little’s 2023 allocation, is set for future community development.
