EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Lewiston School District Board of Directors has eliminated the 'Pay to Participate' fees at Lewiston High School—extending the removal of participation fees already applied at the middle school level so every student can join athletics and other activities. Superintendent Tim Sperber said this change will help ensure that all students have equal opportunities to engage in school programs. Big Country News
- ➤ The Idaho Career Ready Students council has opened the microgrant application process for local education agencies to apply for up to $50,000 for new or expanded career technical education programs for the 2025–2026 school year. - ➤ Idaho refugees have lost food assistance through SNAP due to a new law passed by Congress and will lose Medicaid on October 1st, 2026—about 550 individuals are affected, and U.S. Sen.
