The annual 9-11 Silent Fire and Police procession departs from Asotin at 5:30 p.m. this evening—its route in Lewiston has been revised due to downtown road construction.
The procession will pass fire stations in Lewiston and Clarkston while residents gather along the route to pay tribute.
🎓 Education
Lewis-Clark State College has been named the No. 1 Best Value school in Idaho by Niche — a ranking based on key factors like graduation rate, net price and post-graduation earnings — that shows its affordable tuition for students.
🏛️ Government
The Nez Perce County Board of Commissioners announced that starting October 1, unincorporated residents will need to take their solid waste to the Asotin County Regional Landfill instead of the City of Lewiston Transfer Station.
Residents must obtain a permit at the county courthouse on Main Street so that the landfill charge is applied to the county.
On October 1, unincorporated Nez Perce County residents who direct haul waste must get a permit at the Nez Perce County Commissioners’ Office at 1230 Main Street in Lewiston to use the Asotin County Regional Landfill — City residents and those served by Inland North Waste and Sunshine Disposal Inc. remain unaffected.
