- ➤ The Washington State DAR will rededicate a historical marker at Granite Lake Park in Clarkston on Sunday, September 28 at 8:45 a.m. — the ceremony will honor the 220th anniversary of Lewis and Clark’s entry into Washington and recognize the vital help of the Nimiipuu people. Big Country News

- ➤ Idaho’s average regular fuel is now $3.52 per gallon, up one cent since last week, while eastern areas face larger rises with Idaho Falls and Pocatello increasing six cents, Twin Falls and Coeur d’Alene three cents, and Franklin eight cents. AAA Idaho said pipeline activity and cooler temperatures may soon stabilize prices—analysts warn that lower oil supplies and market factors could push costs higher. Dailyfly

- ➤ Four LC State student-athletes earned weekly honors for strong play in golf and volleyball. Taylor Mire and Luke West earned first-time golfer awards at a national invitational while Taylor Boyce and Tegan Scott earned volleyball honors — with Boyce receiving her first award and Scott her second. - ➤ Idaho’s youth pheasant hunting season begins Saturday, Oct. 4 and runs until Oct. 10 to give hunters 17 and under a week in the field before the general season. Participants must have a valid license and wear at least 36 square inches of hunter orange — nearly 29,000 pheasants will be released at 24 statewide locations, according to Idaho Fish and Game.
