EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mountain View School District will split into two districts and invites staff, students, and parents to submit original designs for new logos—all entries must be in by Nov. 10. KLEW
- ➤ Lewiston P.E.O. Chapter AR awarded a $25,000 ELF loan to University of Idaho law student Kristin Million who ranks in the top 15 percent of her class of nearly 200 and runs an inventory management business—she will continue her work at a Lewiston law office after she graduates in spring. - ➤ Cynthia Pemberton, president of Lewis-Clark State College, has been unanimously elected as the next chair of the NAIA Council of Presidents—she will serve as chair-elect for two years and begin her term as chair from 2027 to 2029. KLEW
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Attorney General Raúl Labrador filed a response with the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday opposing Lindsay Hecox’s request to drop the Little v. Hecox case as moot. He said the filing shows her request breaks a court-ordered stay — and that her enrollment at Boise State gives her a stake in the case that affects the law on women’s sports. Dailyfly
- ➤ The City of Lewiston has agreed to extend waste disposal services to Nez Perce County residents after capacity concerns at the Asotin County Landfill—residents must show proof of residency and will be charged based on the volume of waste. A new agreement covering these services will be prepared by Dec. 31. KLEW

- ➤ Andrea Artusini had a strong college debut at the Beartooth Invitational on Monday at Laurel Golf Club—he scored rounds of 67 and 71, finishing 6-under with five birdies in the first round and four in the second while his No. 19 LC State Men’s Golf team held second place. Dailyfly
