The Idaho Lottery’s 19th annual holiday raffle began ticket sales on October 21 at 4 a.m., offering two guaranteed $1 million top prizes + 500,000 $10 tickets and extra prizes including $100,000 and $50,000.

Winning numbers will be drawn on December 29 at 5:59 p.m.

On Monday, medical education leaders from Idaho, Utah and Washington proposed plans to add hundreds of state-supported medical school seats to help ease the doctor shortage, including a new Boise MD program in partnership and a proposal by Idaho State University to purchase ICOM — efforts discussed at the Statehouse that call for increasing subsidized seats next year and building a statewide collaborative. The proposals aim to boost training for rural doctors and strengthen Idaho’s overall medical education system.

The University of Idaho announced its Summer 2025 graduates with 230 students earning 233 degrees statewide.

Lewiston students earned degrees in fields such as Nutritional Sciences and Mechanical Engineering—one of 19 groups recognized from Region Two and nearby Washington.

Today, the Idaho Lottery began selling 500,000 $10 raffle tickets for the annual Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle which offers two guaranteed $1,000,000 prizes, a $100,000 prize, a $50,000 prize and over 21,500 other prizes—tickets went on sale at 4:00 a.m. Mountain Time.

The winning numbers will be announced on December 29 at 5:59 p.m. Mountain Time—players with early $1,000 prizes must claim them at the Idaho Lottery offices in Boise.

The Idaho Foodbank said food insecurity is growing in north central as rising grocery costs and economic challenges leave 14.7% of residents and 21% of children without reliable access to healthy food.

The nonprofit is asking for community support through food drives and donations—efforts that will continue as pressures on household budgets rise.

The LC State Men’s Golf team finished the first round of The Warrior Fall Invitational at Lewiston Golf & Country Club five strokes behind the leader, and Lucas Ortega posted a 10-under round as the team prepares to compete in the final round on Tuesday.

LC State Women’s Golf led The Warrior Fall Invitational at Lewiston Golf and Country Club on Monday — every player finished in the top 10 as the team led Oregon Tech by four strokes.

Coach Zach Anderson said the steady play set them up for the final round played Tuesday.
