- ➤ The City of Lewiston Public Works said solid waste collection will shift next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday—households with Thursday pickups will have their garbage collected one day later and the transfer station and composting facility will be closed on Thursday. - ➤ The Lewiston Fire Department burned a vacant former radio station at Stewart Avenue and Thain Road today at 9 a.m. as part of its final fire training exercise, where crews tracked heat using a thermal imaging camera and studied fire dynamics for better response techniques. KLEW
