COMMUNITY NEWS

  • St. Vincent de Paul will hold its 40th annual Christmas Connection on Dec. 20 at the Nez Perce County Fair building from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to offer a full meal, gifts, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus—families can register from Nov. 24 to Dec. 12 and volunteers or donations are welcome to support the event and year-round programs.  KLEW

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lewis-Clark State College has opened a new Workforce Training center at 410 Main St. in downtown Lewiston this week. The building offers rooms for video calls, meetings and big groups and now serves about 1,700 students (including GED and Excel training programs).  KLEW

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Lewiston and its Police Department are asking residents, workers, business owners and visitors to complete the 2025 LPD Community Survey before it closes on December 6 — the five-minute survey will help plan public safety services focused on traffic safety, crime prevention and community trust. Chief Jason Kuzik says the feedback will guide the next five-year strategic plan for police outreach.  Dailyfly
  • All lanes of U.S. Highway 12 near Arrow Bridge will reopen for traffic at 5:30 p.m. tonight until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow while crews clear the slope—flaggers will monitor the area during work that resumes in the morning and closes the highway until it is scheduled to fully reopen at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow evening.  Big Country News

HEALTH NEWS

  • TriState Health's 41st Festival of Trees Fundraiser began yesterday at the Clearwater Event Center with a remembrance ceremony and Friday Community Day featuring activities for families — the three-day event will conclude today with a sold-out gala starting at 5:00 p.m. and live auctions that will help fund a planned surgeon clinic expansion.  KLEW

SPORTS NEWS

  • In Tallahassee on Friday, Damaris Kibiwot earned All-American honors at the NAIA Cross Country Nationals—she set an LC State 6k record of 21:44.3 and finished 19th among 331 runners while Kobe Wessels ended his career with a top 60 finish in the men's race. Coach Mike Collins said he was proud of the team's effort and expects the freshmen to improve in future meets.  Dailyfly
  • LC State Women’s Basketball rallied for a 71-70 win over Shawnee State on Friday in Ohio—coming back from a nine-point deficit—to secure its fifth straight victory of the season.  Dailyfly
