Following a windstorm that toppled trees and left roughly 71,600 customers without power Wednesday morning, Avista crews assessed damage and restored service in the region—customers are advised to stay safe around fallen power lines.

The Idaho Division of Aeronautics has opened the 2026 Aviation Art Contest, inviting Idaho students ages 5 to 18 to submit artwork themed "Around the World in a Plane." Winners in five age groups will earn prizes including an airplane ride + art supplies; entries will close March 31.

The Lewiston Post Office is open for business again after a temporary closure; its website shows hours starting at 7:30 a.m. for residents to send mail.

All lanes on U.S. Highway 12 near Arrow Bridge will close tomorrow at noon for controlled rock scaling.
