- ➤ Fire crews are battling the Cherry Fire, a wildfire one mile northeast of Deary that grew to an estimated 30 to 50 acres after it was reported on July 14 at 9 p.m. Over 70 personnel with ground and air resources—including two Type 1 helicopters and additional aerial support—are fighting the blaze in heavy slash on active logging units while officials investigate the cause.
